Shrewsbury road closures announced for the Flower Show

Road closures have been announced to cover the two-day annual flower show which sees thousands flock to a Shropshire town.

The Shrewsbury Flower Show will take place on August 14 and 15 this year and with crowds gathering in the Quarry Park for the event, Shropshire Council has announced road closures for the weekend.

The road closures will be put in place on St Chads Terrace, Claremont Bank, Beeches Lane, Town Walls, Victoria Quay, Victoria Avenue, Priory Road and St Austin's Friars.

There will also be closures on Bellstone, Barker Street, Bridge Street, Mardol Quay, Welsh Bridge, Frankwell, Frankwell Quay, Castle Gates, Castle Street, Pride Hill, Shoplatch, St Johns Hill, High Street, the footpath through Becks Field and the Porthill footbridge.

There will be a suspension of one way on St Johns Hill and prohibition of waiting on roads throughout the town centre along with Lucifelde Road and Kingsland Road.
