Man hit over head with brick in Shrewsbury attack

A man was taken to hospital with head and facial injuries after being hit with a brick by three men during an attack in Shrewsbury.

West Mercia Police is appealing for information to the assault which happened at around 12.50pm on Sunday on the access road to the Castle Business Park on Castle Foregate, Shrewsbury.

The victim, a 31-year-old local man, was hit over the head with a rock or brick by three unknown men.

The victim suffered facial and head injuries as a result and was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Following the assault the men ran off in the direction of New Park Street.

A police spokesman said: "The men were all white and described as in their 40's. One of them men was wearing grey shorts, a hooded top and Adidas trainers. Another was wearing a dark blue hooded top, dark blue trousers/shorts and is described as of a 'stocky build'. The third man was also wearing a dark blue hooded top with shorts and is described as of a slim build with a shaved head."

Anyone who witnessed the assault, or recognises the men described, is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 381 of July 5, 2015.
