Air had to be taken from the tyres to allow the vehicle to free itself from the railway bridge.

Nobody was hurt in the drama, but the lorry's trailer was damaged.

The accident happened in Craven Arms at the south end of Clun Road, just off the A49.

Eyewitness Jim Knight, 50, from Llandrinio, in Powys, said: "I think because part of the A49 is closed the driver may have misjudged the height of the bridge causing the lorry to get stuck."

The accident happened early on Saturday morning.
