Woman suffers facial injuries in Telford assault
A woman has been treated for facial injuries after she was assaulted by a man who followed her to shops in Telford.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which took place in Park Lane, Woodside, on Sunday evening. A suspect has been arrested.
The woman was on her way to the One Stop Shop in Woodside Centre at about 8pm when she became aware that a man, believed to be someone known to the her, was following her.
Police says the man then physically assaulted her, causing minor injuries to her face, which resulted in hospital treatment.
The attacker was then seen leaving the scene in the direction of Westbourne.
A 24-year-old man from Highley has been arrested on suspicion of assault, causing actual bodily harm, and has been bailed until June 18 pending further inquiries.
