Cynthia Roberts, 58, of Station Cottages, Bromfield, near Ludlow, denied one charge of fraud by false representation and one charge of receiving stolen goods yesterday when she appeared at Telford Magistrates Court.

Her daughter, Rebecca Roberts, 25, of Henley Road, Ludlow, entered not guilty pleas to five charges of fraud by false representation and three of theft from another person.

The court was told the alleged victim of the case was a family relative suffering a terminal illness and that the total value of the fraud was £2,825.

Magistrates refused jurisdiction and the case will next be heard at Shrewsbury Crown Court on August 3.
