Watch: All hands to the pump trucks as teams hit Severn Valley Railway tracks

Like something from a silent movie, old fashioned pump trucks took to the Severn Valley Railway.

Teams dressed to impress as they recreated how volunteers travelled on the line in the 1960s when it was being refurbished. They included a team dressed as schoolgirls, inspired by the 1966 film The Great St Trinian's Train Robbery.

Others dressed as characters from Star Trek, Trumpton, Sergeant Pepper and Thunderbirds.

Clare Gibbard was one of the 60 people who took to the tracks as part of celebrations for the 50th birthday of the SVR. She said the event recognised the "tremendous" efforts founding members had put into creating the railway.

Teams took turns to travel between Bridgnorth and Hampton Loade as they clocked up 50 miles through the day.
