Van driver taken to hospital after Telford lorry crash

One person has been taken to hospital after the van he was driving collided with a lorry in Telford.

The van driver, believed to be in his 50s was trapped in the vehicle and was released by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service before being taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

His injuries are not thought to be serious.
The driver of the lorry, believed to be in his 40s, was treated at the scene for back and neck injuries.
Emergency services received 999 calls just before 7am this morning to the collision on the A442 at Queensway, Hadley Park.
Three fire crews from Telford Central and Wellington were sent to the scene, where they used specialist equipment to release the man.
It took the crews around an hour to free him, with heavy traffic building up in the area.
