Man attacks girl, 15, in Telford street

A teenage girl ended up in hospital after being attacked by a man in a Telford street.

The 15-year-old from Hadley was walking along New Street, in Wellington with a friend when they were approached by a man.

The man became verbally abusive towards the girls and then went on to attack the 15-year-old.

The victim ran away and the man left the scene but police say it is unclear where he went.

The 15-year-old was then taken to hospital with injuries to her face.

The suspect is described as white, in his thirties, around 6ft tall, of large build and with short dark brown hair. He is also described as having acne scarring on his face.

At the time of the incident he was wearing worn jeans with rips in them and a black zipped long sleeved top.

The assault happened at 2.30pm near Greggs in Wellington town centre on Sunday.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward by calling 101, quoting incident 381 of April 19, 2015.
