The 1920s building by the entrance to Bowring Park in Wellington was damaged in a blaze last night.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service arson prevention officer Derek Taylor said: "We believe the fire on Monday night was arson and we would ask anyone who has any information to contact the police or Crimestoppers.

"Our fire investigator has been to the scene and some of the roof tiles were damaged in the blaze.

"We have been called out Bowring Park twice before, once in 2014 and 2012."

The pavilion, which includes public toilets, underwent £70,000 repairs following a devastating blaze in July 2012 but less than a week before its reopening the building went up in flames again.
