Letter: Repeated turbine bid causes stress

I am seriously opposed to wind turbines spoiling our beautiful countryside. Apart from being next to useless, they destroy everything countryside lovers stand for.

Recently Mr Millington at Criddon has made two applications for turbines on his land for the sole purpose of creating an income stream for his farm.

The stress he has caused to the local community is unfair. On both occasions his applications have been turned down by Chetton & Morville Parish Councils.

At the most recent meeting, over 100 people turned out for the council meeting in an attempt to prevent turbines being approved.

Apparently Mr Millington can continue ad nauseam putting in applications providing a minor change is made to the previously (rejected) application.

This means that the local community may face again and again the prospect of turbines ruining the landscape upon which they live.

This means that the local councils will face the prospect of wasting their time having to consider further proposals.

The expense of all of this is met by the taxpayers who pay for our councils to function. Ironic or what?

Surely it is time that the law was changed to prevent any person or body from continuing to apply for a lost cause out of personal greed.

So, Mr Millington, please cease your search for further wealth at the expense of your neighbours in this beautiful community.
