A cast of 40 members of the The Arts Centre Telford (TACT) are performing the show, Our House, this week with audiences dancing in the aisles to tunes such as Our House, Baggy Trousers and It Must Be Love.

Ross Dodson, the show's producer, said the week-long run had proved a big hit since Tuesday's opening night.

He said: "It really is amazing because this show being performed by young people aged between 13 and 19, so they're a bit young to know the band when they were at their peak.

"But they all know the classics like One Step Beyond, and you also find that with the audience as well.

"Everyone knows the songs of Madness, so we haven't faced too many challenges when learning the songs.

"And people have even been dancing in the aisles and singing along throughout the show."

He added: "The cast have been amazing. It's taken us about 12 weeks to get everything ready for the live performances, which have been going really well.

"The feedback from audiences has been fantastic and I would encourage people to get their tickets while we still have some available.

"We had so many people audition and we had so much talent that we have even been able to split the cast.

"For example the main character, Joe Casey, is being played by one boy for two nights and another cast member for the final two.

"It's great experience for them to do that, as many people who come through us tend to go on to stage school, so this is very valuable to them."

The show will run until tomorrow Friday (APR 17)and tickets are selling fast, with only 30 left for the final performance.

Tickets are £10 and are available can be bought from the box office at Oakengates Theatre, where the show is being held, by calling on (01952) 382382.

Performances start at 7.30pm.
