Beverley Bladen, community volunteers co-ordinator for West Mercia Police said: "The vehicle involved was a black BTM moped and they were carrying a passenger who was not wearing a helmet."

She said the horse sustained a cut to its leg when it bolted.

"The horse rider indicated for the bike to slow down. However, the bike sped up and revved the engine, this caused the horse to bolt and sustain a cut on the leg.

"The motorcyclist then rode off. The horse rider managed to get the horse under control but a few minutes later the motorcyclist returned without the passenger and shouted abuse at the rider. "
