Buskers will be in the concourses at the Greenhous Meadow from 2pm and members of the Big Busk team will also be there, handing out information about the two-day free music festival.

The Big Busk will be held on Easter Saturday and Sunday, with events throughout Shrewsbury Town centre.

Because of the Easter Bank Holiday, Shrewsbury Town's home game against Dagenham Redbridge is being played the day before the Big Busk, on Good Friday, and the game is also being used as Shrewsbury Town Community Sports Trust's Community Awareness Day.

Karen Higgins, Big Busk organiser, said: "When we realised Shrewsbury would be at home on Good Friday instead of the Saturday, we thought it was a wonderful opportunity to publicise our event, and approached the Community Sports Trust to see if they could help.

"We have been overwhelmed by their offer of support and want to say a huge thank you to them for allowing us to have musicians in the concourses before kick-off."

Jamie Edwards, Shrewsbury Town Community Sports Trust Manager, said: "We are delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile event which will be great for the community.
