The outside door to Hills Lane toilets, managed by Shrewsbury Town Council, was damaged on March 22.

The woman responsible for the damage owned up after CCTV images, from cameras belonging to the town council, were posted on Facebook.

PC Karena Evans, from West Mercia Police, said the woman had been "embarrassed" by her actions.

She said: "We were very pleased that the young lady involved has come forward and has offered to pay for the damage. She is very embarrassed by her actions and wants to make amends. It's great that we are able to work with our Team Shrewsbury partners to manage incidents such as this. By working together we are able to achieve better results than in isolation."

Helen Ball, Shrewsbury Town Council's clerk, said they were pleased the issue had been resolved, adding: "This is yet another example of Team Shrewsbury partners working together for the good of the town."
