The Three Parishes Big Local group this week launches its Big Grants scheme for Weston Rhyn, St Martins and Gobowen.

Its aim is to support projects that need financial help of more than £500 and could see £5,000 handed down.

Bridget Laraway, co-ordinator of the Big Local Project, said even those who were just forming a group may be able to get help as well as organisations from outside the villages who could demonstrate how they were helping the residents.

After four years of consultation a Three Parishes Big Local committee has set up a range of projects to make use of the £1 million award from the lottery. They also include a credit union, wheels to work and car sharing schemes and youth work in the three villages.
