Landlord Jeff Windsor today described how the men burst into the pub at the end of the night.

They forced staff to open the till before escaping with more than £1,000 in takings.

The raid, at The Talbot in Dawley, Telford, was one of two violent weekend attacks in the area involving knives.

Mr Windsor, 60, said the men entered the High Street pub, pointed a knife at the barmaid, who is in her 20s, and told her to get behind the bar and open the till.

They then emptied contents of the till into a plastic bag and left.

Speaking today, Mr Windsor, who has been a pub landlord for 12 years, said it was a terrifying moment and is the first time anything like that has happened to him.

"They were there for only a matter of minutes, but it felt like hours," he said.

"That's when they demanded the money in the till, and they had the young lady who was locking up with me at knifepoint behind the bar.

"So we emptied the till and they made off with the day's takings.

"No-one was hurt, but I am bit shaken but not as much as the young lady as I am ex-army so I have dealt with a lot worse, but it's still not nice.

"I just hope someone has some information so we can catch these men and stop it from happening again."

The attack on the pub happened at 11.20pm, shortly after nearby homeowners in St Christopher's Way, Malinslee, were threatened by a man with a knife, who then stole jewellery.

The burglary happened when a couple returned to find a man in their house. He threatened them before escaping. Two Pandora bracelets with a total of 17 charms were taken as well as a Micheal Kors watch and a white gold ring. A tablet computer and a Nokia Lumia phone were also stolen.
