Three in court on Bridgnorth cannabis charges

Three people have appeared in court charged with offences related to a cannabis growing operation in Bridgnorth.

Angela Bates, 43, of Catstree, Bridgnorth, is charged with conspiracy to produce a class B drug, using electricity without authority and transferring criminal property, namely the proceeds from cannabis production.

Simon Bates, 48, of the same address, is charged with allowing the production or attempted production of the drug.

Keith Taylor, 48, of St Chads Road, Bilston, Wolverhampton, is also charged with conspiracy to produce a class B drug and using electricity without authority.

All three entered no pleas to the offences yesterday when they appeared at Telford Magistrates Court.

The case will next be heard at Shrewsbury Crown Court on June 2 and all three defendants were released on unconditional bail.
