Mechanic David Price was arrested in connection with the incident on Co-op Store in Upper Galdeford last month described as a "professional raid".

At Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday the case was adjourned until May 11 for a plea and case management hearing. The court was told that evidence was being examined including a stolen car with false plates said to have been used in the raid in the early hours of February 19.

Price faces charges of burglary and criminal damage relating to the puncturing of tyres on several police vehicles parked at the nearby police station on the day of the raid.

Price, of Simpson Road, Low Hill, Wolverhampton, who appeared at court yesterday on a video link from prison, was allowed bail. Recorder Dennis Desmond imposed a curfew and banned Price from entering any Co-op store.
