They braved the cold yesterday and rode from Telford to the popular hangout for petrol heads and rockers, London Ace Cafe.

The event, organised by Midlands Riders, was organised to help raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance.

Chris Thomson, one of the founding members of MR, said: "It's taken me four months to organise the event.

"It started off with me putting a status on Facebook, asking if anyone would join me if I rode down to London Ace Cafe.

"From that more and more people started asking me about it, and one of my friends told me to create a event. Next thing I know over 200 people agreed to take part," he said.

"We just wanted to do something big to try and get the word out about MR, as well as raising money for charity."

The group decided to raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance because of its role in helping bikers involved in accidents on roads in the region.

The London Ace Cafe has been going since 1938.
