Inquest opens on Shropshire farmer who died after kick by cow

An inquest has been opened into a Shropshire farmer who died after being kicked by one of his cows.

Mr John Ellery, coroner for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, opened the inquest on Keith Preece, 62, of The Down, Bridgnorth, at Shirehall in Shrewsbury yesterday.

The hearing was adjourned until May 28.

Phil Tyler, the coroner's officer, said Mr Preece had died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on February 6 after the incident at his farm two days earlier.
