Watch: Firefighters rescue horse from ditch near Oswestry

Fire officers came to the rescue of a horse trapped in a ditch near Oswestry on Saturday.

The mare was trapped at Grimpo, West Felton, with three fire appliances dispatched as part of the rescue team at around 1.47pm.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that a vet was also called to assist with the rescue, which involved the use of lifting and animal harnesses and straps.

The crews had attended from Baschurch and Wellington and they managed to get the animal to safety by 3.15pm.
