Land next to poultry units at Lloyds Animal Feeds, in Sandy Lane, Stoke Heath, near Market Drayton has been earmarked.

Developers say the panels would reduce CO2 emissions by about 24,400kg and the necessary equipment would be linked to the poultry sheds.

In a statement, Nigel Thorns of Nigel Thorns Planning Consultancy said: "The scheme has been designed to minimise disturbance to the land, be temporary, capable of removal and reversible. It will also minimise the landscape and visual impact and the impact upon neighbouring properties."

Planners have said the panels would be well concealed from surrounding homes and that there would be no "detrimental impact" to the nearby houses.

The news comes after plans for solar farms were revealed. Sites in Whitchurch, Bridgnorth and Shifnal were put forward to the council with some proposals hoping to install as many as 100,000 solar panels.
