Victim assaulted with metal bar in Shrewsbury wanted by police

Police are searching for the victim of an assault with a metal bar in Shrewsbury after a witness reported it to them.

The witness called West Mercia Police to tell them about an incident along Crowmere Road in Shrewsbury between 12.35pm and 12.40pm on January 5, 2015.

They told police that they saw two black men chasing a white man down the road; one of the black men has been holding a metal bar and attacked the victim with it.

The two black men have then headed towards Racecourse Crescent after the victim escaped over a gate.

A West Merica Police spokesman said: "We received a call from a witness who told us about the violent attack they had witnessed; to date the victim has not yet come forward.

"If this was you, or you know who the victim might be, we would urge you to come forward and speak to us by calling 101 quoting incident243s of Monday 5 January."
