A further four were resolved through the community, while 11 were unable to be resolved.

Nine cases remain under investigation.

Shropshire Chief Inspector Tom Harding said: "Police officers often encounter dangerous and life-threatening situations while on duty. Despite this, any attacks on police officers will not be tolerated and positive action will be taken to ensure offenders are brought to justice.

"Last year, over 80 per cent of offences resulted in offenders being brought to justice for their crimes.

"We work hard with the Crown Prosecution Service and the judiciary to ensure offenders are dealt with robustly."

Dyfed-Powys Police reported 63 attacks on its employees resulted in an injury. As a result there were 95 successful prosecutions.
