The man suffered injuries to his arm during the early morning raid on the Shell service station on Salop Road, Oswestry. Bottles of vodka were taken.

Two men have since been arrested on suspicion of robbery. Police were called to the garage at 4.30am on Friday. The forecourt and shop were both taped off during the morning while officers carried out investigations but it reopened during the afternoon. Staff at the garage declined to comment, but confirmed the business had reopened.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said that the male employee suffered an arm injury but that it was not serious.

The spokesman said inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101.
