Telford police officer in court over child abuse photos and videos

A serving police officer has appeared in court accused of having more than 30,000  photos and videos of child abuse.

PC Peter Ba Han, 53, of Telford, has been suspended from the force after the images of sex attacks on youngsters were allegedly found on a computer at his home.

The Kingston-based Met policeman appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to 14 charges relating to child pornography.

The case was sent to Southwark Crown Court for trial.

Prosecutor Andrew Hadik said police seized a computer and external hard drives from Ba Han's home in Cooke Drive, Dawley, during an initial raid in May 2013. When they returned six months later officers found more photos, taking the overall size of material discovered up to 9,000GB.

Ba Han pleaded not guilty to 14 charges of making an indecent image of a child.

He was released on conditional bail to appear at Southwark Crown Court on February 2.
