Shrewsbury death crash victim named

A 28-year-old man who died following a four vehicle crash in Shrewsbury has been named.

David Murdoch, from Pulborough in Sussex, died after suffering serious injuries on the A49.

The crash happened near the Sundorne Traffic Island at 5.35pm on December 15.

Mr Murdoch, who was driving a silver Kia Cee'd, was taken to North Staffordshire University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent but died five days later.

A woman suffered a fractured wrist and a man had back pain following the crash.

Both treated at the scene and taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Two further women were also assessed at the scene and discharged.

The other vehicles involved in the crash were a silver Vauxhall Vectra, a silver Toyota Auris and a blue Mercedes C220.

Police are keen to trace anyone who may have witnessed the accident on the busy stretch of road.
