Ellesmere photographer Stewart MacKellar has been documenting his surroundings for more than four years, but said he was just "at the right place at the right time" when it came to taking this prize shot.

Mr MacKellar, 26, took up photography four years ago, while he was studying for his graphic design degree.

He said: "I have always been interested in photography and it is now part of my business.

"When I started my graphic design degree it got me into photography.

"I am a self-employed graphic designer and photographer and I also work for the Hive in Shrewsbury as a freelancer.

"The Hive celebrates arts, culture and creativity and provides a base for young people in Shropshire to explore and build on their creative skills.

"I also take pictures for social media sites and people's websites and I am a photographer for Visit Wales, so I currently have a lot of projects on the go."

Mr MacKellar's picture of lights shining from the tennis courts in Shrewsbury was picked as the Shropshire Star's Star Witness £100 winner for November, which Mr MacKellar said was "brilliant news".

He said: "I am super chuffed. I just managed to be in the right place at the right time to take this picture.

"I was walking back from the Hive, back to the car to go home when I saw this scene.

"It looked perfect and really epic. Everything had come together. I normally have a camera with me so took a picture of the scene and went home. It didn't need much editing so it is pretty much as it was."

And when asked how Mr MacKellar felt about winning the competition and a £100 prize, he said: "I am over the moon. I had my fingers crossed. It is a lovely prize to win just before Christmas and will pay for my car insurance."
