The Environment Agency issued the alert - which means flooding is possible and people should remain alert - for the rivers Tern, Perry, Roden, Strine, Meese and their tributaries in the north of the county this morning.

Environment Agency spokesman Dave Throup said it was in response to overnight rain.

Fourteen areas of the country have been put on flood alert, with six of those in the Midlands.
