Telford women's drugs trial collapses

The trial of two Telford woman who denied their involvement in a drugs operation has collapsed.

Gemma Buxton, 29, of Malcolm Davies Drive, Trench, denies one count of conspiracy to transfer criminal property.

Sharon Ann-Marie Campbell, 42, of Burford, Brookside, denies two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and one count of conspiracy to transfer criminal property in the form of cash.

The trial at Birmingham Crown Court got under way on November 18 and it has now been adjourned until July 20 next year.

The pair were brought to court as part of Operation Sift, a major police operation investigating the supply of illegal drugs in the region that saw dozens of people were arrested by West Mercia Police following raids in Telford last year as part of the operation.
