Salopian Gareth Rhys Jones, the man behind the music for the 'Christmas in Shrewsbury' video, will be releasing the full version of 'This is your Christmas' on Monday.

Available on iTunes, Amazon and other online retailers, the release coincides with the launch of the Shrewsbury Business Improvement District's (BID) latest video 'Christmas in Shrewsbury'.

The BID discovered Gareth's winning talent through its music competition earlier this year which aimed to uncover local bands and artists to accompany the Christmas video.

Revealed at the town's Christmas lights switch-on, the production is now available to watch on the Original Shrewsbury YouTube channel and has already been viewed over 11,000 times in a week.

Gareth said: "Being involved in the Shrewsbury BID's 'Christmas in Shrewsbury' video was a great experience and I am proud to be a part of something which showcases our beautiful town. I'm excited about the song's launch and hope for a positive reception similar to that received by the video.

"I'm really looking forward to this event. It's a great way to bring local bands and artists together to share and enjoy each other's music."

Gareth will also debut his song this Sunday at The Boathouse Inn for the Big Busk's 'Busking around the Christmas Tree'.

The event will see Gareth perform a festive set, including his song 'This is your Christmas' from 5pm.

Crowds will gather at the popular Shrewsbury venue on the banks of the Severn, with Gareth headlining the event.
