More than 270 objections have been lodged to plans for 85 houses and 16 holiday cabins at Caer Caradoc, near Church Stretton, a favourite with hill walkers.

Objectors now include Church Stretton Town Council, Church Stretton Chamber of Commerce, the Strettons Civic Society and Philip Dunne MP, along with the Shropshire Hills area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) partnership, Shropshire Council's rights-of-way office, and the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).

Agents for Morris Property said the plan was a preferred option for SAMDev in July 2013 as it was judged to be sustainable, with "no significant constraints to development".
