Club officials say the support for the fourth round clash of the league cup has been so high they could have sold out the match five times over.

Matt Williams, chief executive of Shrewsbury Town Football Club, said: "Everyone is buzzing. The whole club has been buzzing since the draw was made after the Norwich game.

"It's a massive game, not only for the club but for the town. We could have sold the game four or five times over."

The Capital One Cup itself was in the window of giant-killing Shrewsbury Town's official club shop in the town's busy Darwin Shopping Centre yesterday.

It's the second time the cup has been to Shrewsbury – the club had it ahead of their earlier third round tie against championship side Norwich which the Shrews won 1-0.

Kevin Lockwood, manager of the Darwin, Pride Hill and Riverside Shopping Centres, said: "Shrewsbury are on a fantastic cup run and they could hardly have drawn a bigger name than Chelsea.

"It should be an incredible atmosphere down at the Greenhous Meadow and, who knows, perhaps they can pull off another upset."
