Robert Jones, 25, from Llansantffraid, entered a not guilty plea to the charge when he appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court yesterday.

The case was committed to crown court for trial and Jones was granted unconditional bail.

His next hearing will be at Shrewsbury Crown Court on January 15.

Jones is accused of causing the death of Andrew Watkins, 59, also from Llansantffraid, in a crash on the A495 close to the village of Llanyblodwel, near Oswestry.

Mr Watkins died on April 2 when his silver Peugeot 307 was in collision with a black VW Caddy.
