Man cut free from car after crash on Shropshire border

A man was taken to hospital after being cut free from his car following an accident.

The 45-year-old was freed by fire crews after a collision on a country road near Bettws-y-Crwyn, on the Shropshire border near Newcastle.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 11.50am yesterday.

Fire crews from Clun, Bishop's Castle and Wellington released the man after his car was involved in a collision with a van on the narrow road.

He was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, complaining of neck pain.
