Officers seized Peter Evans's computer after turning up with a warrant to search his home in Ludlow Road, Church Stretton, in January last year.

Shrewsbury Crown Court heard indecent images of children were found on a computer taken from Evans's home – and a further picture of a child was found inside an envelope alongside several pictures of adult pornography.

Evans, 62, denies eight charges of making indecent images of children, five charges of possessing indecent images of children and one count of possessing with intent for show indecent images of children

between January 12, 2000 and January 21, 2012

The trial had earlier heard Evans told officers he was compiling a collection of pictures because he wanted to expose child porn.

Detective Constable Jason Cook, of West Mercia Police, was tasked with searching Evans's computer for evidence. He told the jury yesterday police found 83 indecent images of children on his hard drive.

He said he found evidence of 130 indecent pictures that Evans had got rid of by clearing out his internet cache. Of those 130, 95 had been created in a 10-minute period just hours before police arrived, DC Cook said.

The trial continues.
