PC Scott Harrower from Oswestry police said: "The incident happened at about 9.15am on September 18 as the driver prepared to move away from the stop. He looked in his mirror and saw a cyclist riding past who then thumped the bus with his hand.

"The cyclist then put his bike down and walked up to the driver's open window where he physically assaulted the driver, leaving him with minor injuries to his wrist."

The cyclist is described as a white man in his late 40s, approximately 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build with receding, possibly grey hair. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark jeans, a red and black rucksack and trainers.

Police are appealing for the cyclist and witnesses to come forward.
