Poll: Are Tory MPs unhappy over Europe right to jump ship to Ukip?

After this week's Conservative Party conference was hit by the defection of MP Mark Reckless to Ukip, we want to know what readers think about Tory politicians jumping ship.

Mr Reckless dramatically appeared on stage at the Ukip conference over the weekend to announce he was switching from the Tories and triggering a by-election.

He followed Eurosceptic backbencher Douglas Carswell, who defected in August and looks set to win the resulting by-election in Clacton to become Ukip's first elected MP.

Mr Carswell said he did not believe David Cameron was "serious about the change we need" in Europe.

Yesterday it was announced that Shropshire landowner William Cash - the son of veteran Tory MP Bill Cash - has joined Ukip, claiming the Conservatives were letting down the countryside.

The Tories suffered another defection embarrassment when former deputy mayor of London Richard Barnes, previously Boris Johnson's right hand man at City Hall, announced he too was joining Ukip.
