Letter: Beware this treaty as election looms

Do I detect a General Election looming? Mr Cameron visits The Royal Welsh Show boosting support for the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Mid and West Wales.

Mr Cable has visited Llandrindod Wells, touring with Mr Roger Williams MP, where, according to The Brecon and Radnor, he launched a scathing attack on the Conservative Party, saying: "Why would people want to go with the Conservatives in an area like this?"

Having used the visit to raise party profile and to promote a Lib Dem vote over a Conservative one Mr Cable then goes on to praise our manufacturing industry, and well he should.

However, Mr Cable's kind words and pleasant gestures cover up the fact that as the UK business secretary he is deeply embroiled in a secret new trade deal being negotiated between the EU and the US – The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, TTIP.

Chris Carmichael, Green Party spokesperson, said: "This is a secret deal being struck between the top end of Government and commerce with no consultation where it could hurt the most, in the work place."

He went on to say:"TTIP is a fancy name for a potentially sinister deal. It could open the doors for US healthcare companies to sue our Government if they try to put a stop to privatisation of the NHS. It will allow big business to sue the Government if it passes laws that damage their profits."

There is a General Election looming so watch out for wool being pulled over eyes .
