Market Drayton Town Council will hear more about the scheme to build the homes off Greenfields Lane at its meeting on Thursday.

The outline application has been put forward by Danbank Developments Ltd as part of Shropshire Council's Site Allocations and Management of Development plan, also known as SAMDev.

As part of the plan 400 new homes have been earmarked for the town by 2026.

Residents got their first chance to take a look at the plans at a drop-in consultation event in the Festival Drayton Centre in July.

They accepted the need for new homes but raised concerns about whether the town's infrastructure and local services such as schools and the doctor's surgery could cope with the new development.

Richard Wilshaw, the agent on behalf of Danbank Developments Ltd, said it could be two years before building the homes starts if planning permission is granted and three to four years before people move in.

Thursday's meeting will take place the town hall, Frogmore Road, at 7pm.
