Thugs hurl brick through car window in Bridgnorth homophobic attack

A group of thugs surrounded a man's car in Bridgnorth and threw a house brick through his windscreen.

Police said the 24-year-old man had been walking his dog with another man when he was approached by an unknown female who became verbally abusive.

Both men went to leave the area but found their vehicle, a silver Ford Fiesta, in Severn Park car park, surrounded by a group of six to seven men and women of mixed ages.

The group pushed and kicked the victim's car, while another member of the group picked up a large metal bin and threw it against the car casing damage to the driver's side panel and glass.

Another person threw as a house brick through the wind screen of the car, completely destroying it.

Throughout the attack, on September 7, at 7.15pm, members of the group shouted homophobic slurs at both the victim and the man with him.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

The woman, who first began verbally abusing the dog walker, was white and aged about 40.

She was short in height, with ginger hair tied back and was wearing a white blouse with a knee length skirt.

One of the men in the group was also about 40-years-old, of average build, with short blond hair.

Another male was also described as being 40-years-old, wearing a blue polo shirt with dark jeans.

A Ford Focus saloon car was also thought to be linked to the suspects, which police are keen to identify.
