Telford overnight road closure
A stretch of the road around Telford Shopping Centre will be closed overnight from tonight for improvement works set to last for the rest of the week.
The stretch from the multi-storey car park up to Malinsgate police station will close each evening so work can take place to make the road two-way.
Coach Central will close from 8pm until 6am from this evening to Friday.
The resurfacing works are being carried out overnight to keep disruption to a minimum and diversions will be put in place and fully signposted.
Work to make the Box Road two way will be completed by March.
Councillor Hilda Rhodes, Telford & Wrekin Council's cabinet member for Transport, said: "We are busy changing the entire look and feel of Telford town centre and making the box road two way is a key part of that.
"The new layout will help create a more traditional town centre feel with a greater choice of routes to all parts of the town centre. It will also slow traffic down making it safer for all road users."
