Hedge fires break out in the heat

Two hedge fires broke out within quarter of an hour of each other around a Shropshire village.

A fire crew from Minsterley were called out to a blaze that had broken out in the evening heat at about 6.20pm yesterday.

A nine square metre section of conifer hedge had caught fire in Callow Crescent. The fire was extinguished at about 6.40pm.

Only quarter of an hour later at about 6.55pm another fire broke out at Ash Lea in the village.

A two metre square area of hedge and undergrowth was extinguished by the Minsterley fire crew by about 7.15pm.
