Councillors look set to give houses, a primary school and health centre the go ahead on the condition the developer gives nearly £5m towards infrastructure and facilities.

Northern Trust Company Ltd is working with the owner of the land, British Sugar, to regenerate it.

The 38 hectare site would see 470 homes being built, 10 per cent of which would be affordable, ranging between three and five bedrooms, as well as a primary school for up to 200 pupils.

There would also be space for a business hub, a health centre, pharmacy and a shop.

And there are plans for a sports and social club, sports pavilion, two bowling greens, a junior sports pitch, two full size football pitches, two cricket fields and car parking.

Councillors will consider the plan at a meeting of Telford & Wrekin Council's planning committee next Wednesday.
