Concerns had been raised over the plans for The Leasowes, in Sandford Avenue, after it was suggested that the overall number could be reduced to 34 homes.

But members of Church Stretton Town Council said they wanted to see the site used for the original amount of up to 52.

The site had been earmarked for around 50 homes in the town's SamDev proposals.

Councillor Nigel Hartin said: "I think this is a good site for housing. I would be happy to support up to the larger numbers, particularly as it has been supported by the local council."

Councillor David Turner said: "It is pleasing to have agreement between the local member, town council and officers."
