Woman hurt in Telford tractor crash

The crash happened at 3.30pm yesterday in Allscott, Wrockwardine, Telford.

The incident left the tractor badly damaged and jackknifed on the side of the road.

A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said that firefighters from Telford Central and Wellington stations had used specialist cutting equipment to cut off the roof of the car to rescue the woman.

She was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford with a neck injuries although she was not believed to be seriously injured.In a separate incident, a 13-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital following an accident in Mid Wales.

The teenager suffered head injuries in the incident near to the traffic lights in Kerry Road, Newtown.

Police said that the accident happened at 1.25pm yesterday when the boy was hit by a car.

A Welsh Air Ambulance helicopter airlifted the teenager to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for treatment.

His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
