The 34-year-old man is one of four men who were arrested on suspicion of public order offences.

The three other men, aged 49, 31 and 21, are all from the Wrexham area.

The fight took place on a Holyhead to Shrewsbury Service which had stopped at Rhyl railway station on Saturday, police said.

Inspector Mark Jones, of British Transport Police, said: "This must have been an intimidating environment for other passengers on board the train and on the platform at Rhyl.

"Although four arrests have been made in connection with the incident, our investigation is ongoing and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have been either at the station or on the train to contact us.

"You may have seen or heard something that could prove vital to this investigation."

All four men have been released on police bail until Monday May 19 while investigations are ongoing.

Inspector Jones added: "We do not tolerate anti-social and violent behaviour like this and we will be continuing our inquiries, including viewing any available CCTV and speaking to witnesses."

Anyone who may have witnessed the disorder, is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference WSUB/B7 of 14/04/2014.

Information can also be passed Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
