The car left the road at 10.45am, in the Pentredwr area.

One person was trapped in the vehicle with firefighters using specialist equipment to release the victim.

It is the second accident on the Horseshoe Pass, a well known beauty spot, in the past month.

Welsh Assembly member, Llyr Gruffrydd, said: "It's only a matter of weeks since the last serious accident and calls were made then to improve safety on the pass.

"We urgently need to consider how best to minimise the dangers, whether it's safety barriers or speed restrictions."
