The fire that ripped throught The Tayleur Arms

Natalie Hughes and Jonathan Piper were due to be married on July 4, with their reception planned in the evening at the Tayleur Arms in Longdon upon Tern.

But their plans were scuppered when the historic pub burnt down on March 18.

Rather than try to find an alternative venue, the couple, who live in Admaston, decided to postpone their big day until October next year, when they hope the Tayleur will be open again.

Miss Hughes, 24, who works at the pub as a restaurant supervisor, said: "My wedding didn't even cross my mind when I heard about the fire. I was just thinking about Richard, Eve and the family.

"It was my mum who reminded me about our plans.

"We are gutted but we knew postponing it was the right thing to do.

"I've grown up in the Tayleur. My nan used to work there and my mum and my sister, so it's very close to my heart."
