Gang of 14 admit Shropshire drugs supply plot

Thirteen men from Telford and one from Shrewsbury have all admitted their roles in a year-long conspiracy to supply drugs, including heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis.

All the defendants have offered guilty pleas following a serious of hearings at Birmingham Crown Court.

At the latest hearing eight of the men were due to face trial, but pleaded guilty to offences linked to a conspiracy to supply drugs in Shropshire between September, 2012, and September last year.

Jangheer Khan, 30, Brian Harrison, 36, and John Allen, 25, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of thousands of pounds worth cannabis in January last year.

Adil Khan, 22, Sean Waddilove, 41, and Mohammed Aqil, 23, admitted being part of a wider conspiracy to supply cannabis.

Jangheer Khan, Adnan Khan, 21, and Waqar Hussain, 21, had also denied a charge of affray in connection with the intimidation of a witness, but pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening behaviour.

At a hearing in December Adnan Khan, Waqar Hussain, Naseer Khan, 20, and Sundeep Paul, 20, had all admitted being involved in a plot to supply crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.

Four other men, Amar Hussain, 22, Robert Carter, 28, Wassiem Hussain, 22 and Mark Purves, 28, have all pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply cannabis..

At court on Tuesday Judge Richard Bond adjourned sentence on all the defendants to dates to be fixed.

Adnan Khan, of Manor Road, Hadley; Waqar Hussain, of Hurleybrook Way, Leegomery; Jangheer Khan, of Bush Close, Dothill; Aqil, of Manor Road, Arleston; Allen, of Spout Way, Malinslee; Adil Khan, of Manor Road, Hadley, and Waddilove, of Victoria Avenue, Wellington, were all remanded in custody. Harrison, of Parkway, Woodside, was allowed conditional bail.

The cases of Paul, of Hadrian Flats, Wellington; Naseer Khan, of Bush Close, Dothill; Amar Hussain, of Eyton Road, Dawley; Carter, of Bleachfield, Hanwood, Shrewsbury; Wassiem Hussain, of Crescent Road, Hadley and Purves, of Eyton Road, Dawley, had previously been adjourned for sentence.

All the 14 defendants were arrested in September last year following a West Mercia police investigation codenamed Operation Sift.
